Happy New Year 2024!

Dear friends and family,

Happy New Year 2024! As 2023 came to an end, we can’t help but look back and see God’s goodness in our lives and in the ministry He has allowed us to serve.

Through your generosity, prayers, and the many who visited and helped us, we’ve been able to accomplish various things. This includes having a house full of people for the majority of 2023. At the end of September, we were blessed to have Pastor Jim King from LSBC here to teach during our team retreat. He focused on hospitality, and we realized how blessed we’ve been this past year to host so many different people—an aspect of our work that we truly enjoy.

We’ve been active at Living Water Retreat Center, experiencing one of the most amazing years. We began the year with full momentum, welcoming construction groups from different parts of the USA. With their assistance, we framed and dried-in four new cabins, each capable of accommodating up to 10 campers—adding space for 40 more individuals to be ministered to. Simultaneously, we constructed a pond with a beautiful waterfall, built a basketball court, and addressed the absence of such amenities in the LWRC area, benefiting 17 local schools with various activities. Many of these schools still have dirt floors and outhouses for bathrooms, making the court a tremendous blessing, especially during the frequent rainy periods.

We express our extreme gratitude to the diverse individuals who came to help us in various areas. Some contributed daily maintenance skills, while others assisted in building and completing numerous projects. Notably, we were able to build the “missionary house,” marking the first time we have an actual residence at LWRC. Eliceo and Jessica, the groundkeepers at LWRC, are now living there and thoroughly enjoying their new home.

Despite facing challenges, including issues with a corrupt government and a large mining company causing a national strike in Panama, shutting down major roads and highways for about 45 days, God’s blessings prevailed. Many churches faced physical challenges in reaching LWRC, but throughout the year, we were overjoyed when they could make it.

In early October, we hosted one of the first “pastors retreats” with close to 40 like-minded churches represented. This proved to be a highlight not only of our year but of our lives, humbled by the opportunity to serve as instruments for God’s ministry. It was also a time to share what God is doing at LWRC and discuss our vision for the future. Beautiful relationships were established, and we are confident that God will make them last for many years to come.

God has allowed us to minister not only at our local church (Friendship Bible Church) but also in several other churches, addressing both physical and spiritual needs. It is humbling to see God use us, and we thank Him for the rewarding experience.

We ask for your prayers for Living Water Retreat Center and its staff as we continue to grow. Additionally, pray as we search for more people to join us. Serving full-time this year has kept us continuously using the camp, with three families working at LWRC. Doubling our staff could still keep us super busy.

Watching our son Myka grow up in kindergarten seems like a whirlwind. He was eagerly looking forward to his 6th birthday on December 13th. Please pray for us and for Myka, as growing up in our hectic schedule isn’t always easy.

We have been extremely blessed and God has been so Good to us, but we do see the need to go and visit different people and churches as we plan on making a trip to the US In April to do our deputation and to visit different people, churches, and schools as we are planning new and exciting projects. We aren’t really sure what states we will be able to visit but we are trying to visit as many as we can, Michelle is mapping out the best routes to make the most of the short window that we have, it seems it very difficult to be away from ministry for several weeks at a time but we also are extremely grateful for each one of you,

We cannot express our gratitude enough for your partnership in this ministry that God allows us to serve.
